The Yamagoe (山越え), known as the Hill Climb in English broadcasts, is an obstacle introduced in SASUKE 12's First Stage as the first obstacle, replacing the Godantobi.

The function of this obstacle is that first, competitors need to get a running start and climb over the top of the hill. Then, on the descending portion of it, the competitor must jump to the next hill. The competitor must then repeat the process and land on the platform at the other side.

A relatively easy obstacle, it only used for one tournament, and was removed in SASUKE 13 by a much harder obstacle, the Prism See-Saw.

The Sosoritatsu Kabe, an obstacle from the first four SASUKE tournaments, was also called the Hill Climb during the broadcast of Ninja Warrior, as well as the Chou Touhan (which also called as the Hill Climb during the broadcast of Women of Ninja Warrior).
