Intro[]
The first VIKING tournament, official name: 海筋肉王 "バイキング": 最強の芸能界スペシャル (Umi Kin'niku-ō VIKING: Saikyō no Geinō-kai SP, literally Sea Muscle King "VIKING": Strongest Celebrities Special), was the first ever VIKING tournament that took place in 2005 and aired on March 22, 2005. There was bad weather in this tournament, preventing Brain Ship Stage from being attempted.
This tournament was designed as a Celebrities Special and thus most of the competitors were celebrities, with a few Muscle Musical members such as TERU, Takahashi Hiromitsu, and Miyake Ayako filling the spots, which resulted in there being only 80 competitors in this tournament. Also, all competitors were not given a bib, a tradition that would continue until VIKING 4, the last VIKING tournament.
Due to the smaller pool of competitors, coupled with their general overall inexperience, First Marine Stage took out 75 competitors. Second Adventure Stage proven to be too hard as even though valiant efforts were shown, TERU and Takahashi failed Galleon and none of the other three competitors could clear Rope Maze, let alone the rest of Second Adventure Stage, leaving Third Fantasy Stage and Final VIKING untouched.
