The Swing Ladder's function is very similar to the Tsuri Hashigo (which was firstly introduced in KUNOICHI 7's Second Stage), where a set of monkey bars must be crossed by the competitors. The monkey bars are set on a tilting mount on the scaffolding above, and swing substantially when competitors traverse them. Toward the end of the obstacle, many competitors began attempting the obstacle sideways, similar to the style used to beat the Climbing Bars.
Of the 10 competitors who attempted it, no one ever failed it. Interestingly, although it was in place for three tournaments, Lee En-Chih was the only competitor to attempt it twice. It was replaced with the much tougher Unstable Bridge in SASUKE 23.
