The Ring Toss first appeared in the Dallas Qualifying Round of American Ninja Warrior 6 and later appeared in the Dallas City Finals that season. It consists of three sections of pegs and two rings. The first section has six pegs and is on an upward incline. The second section has five pegs and is on a downward incline. The last section only has four pegs and is on an upward incline. Competitors hold on to the rings and use them to traverse the pegs. Some competitors dropped a ring and were forced to leap from where they were towards the landing mat.
Modified Ring Toss
The second version of the Ring Toss, the Modified Ring Toss, first appeared in the Kansas City Qualifying Round of American Ninja Warrior 7. It consists of three sections like the Ring Toss but instead of all the pegs being on the competitor's right side, they alternate sides allowing the competitor to face the direction they are moving. This allowed the obstacle to be completed quicker than the first version. In this version the first section has three pegs, the second has four pegs, and the third has three pegs.
