The Piston Road is an obstacle, firstly introduced as the first obstacle in Stage One on American Ninja Warrior 6, replacing the Timbers from the previous season.
Competitors must across six angled piston-shaped steps (in a similar fashion to the Godantobi or Rokudantobi). This obstacle was proven to be extremely easy, as all 90 competitors could complete the obstacle.
Other Season Appearances[]
American Ninja Warrior 7[]
The Piston Road returned on American Ninja Warrior 7, once again as the first obstacle in Stage One. This time, the obstacle took out four competitors (Steve Martin, Dennis Lappin, Caitlin Shukwit and Annie Dudek). Despite that, it still had a very low 4% knockout rate.
On American Ninja Warrior 8, the obstacle was replaced by the more difficult Snake Run.
Other Appearances[]
Ninja Warrior Germany[]
On Ninja Warrior Germany 3, the Piston Road, locally called Tonnensprung (literally Barrel Jump) appeared as the first obstacle of the semifinals. It consisted of five cylinders, with the first one placed on the left.
It returned to the finals' Stage One as the first obstacle (now upgraded to Tonnensprung 2.0). The number of cylinders were reduced to four, with three on the left and one on the right.
Team Ninja Warrior Germany[]
On Ninja Warrior Germany's spin-off Team Ninja Warrior Germany, Piston Road appeared as the first obstacle in the K.O.-Rounds in the Preliminary Round. This time, the obstacle consisted of five angled piston-shaped steps in total (making this obstacle incredibly similar to the Rokudantobi).
It returned in Team Ninja Warrior Germany 2, as the first obstacle of every K.O. round.
Ninja Warrior Poland[]
On Ninja Warrior Poland 5, the Piston Road, simply called Tłoki (Pistons) appeared as the first obstacle in the Semi-finals and finals Stage Two. Unlike American Ninja Warrior, the number of pistons were reduced to three.
