The Lamp Grasper (ランプグラスパー), known as the Globe Grasp in English broadcasts, is a Third Stage obstacle introduced in SASUKE 9, replacing the Arm Bike.

Competitors must grab onto fourteen small and glowing blue spheres, attached to the scaffolding above, to reach the landing platform.

Over the four tournaments it was in the Third Stage, the obstacle had failed four times, with Nakata Daisuke failed there in 3 consecutive tournaments from SASUKE 9 to SASUKE 11, and Takeda Toshihiro in SASUKE 9.

After Nagano Makoto's near miss of kanzenseiha in SASUKE 12, it was replaced by the Curtain Cling.

Kudari Lamp Grasper

The Lamp Grasper returned in Shin-SASUKE for SASUKE 19's Third Stage, once again replacing the Arm Bike, and was renamed as the Kudari Lamp Grasper (下りランプグラスパー). During the broadcast of Ninja Warrior, the obstacle was called as either the Globe Grasp or Downward Globe Grasp.

While it was introduced in SASUKE 19, it wasn't attempted until SASUKE 20.

In this incarnation, the scaffolding was angled downward, and the spheres were more grouped than the original Lamp Grasper. Also, the spheres were not glowing and blue-colored.

Competitors were allowed to skip several spheres or traverse down one side of the obstacle, as Levi Meeuwenberg did in SASUKE 23.

Unlike the original Lamp Grasper, the Kudari Lamp Grasper never eliminated any competitor who attempted it (likely due to the downward angle of the obstacle, making the competitors easily grabbed the spheres), and was replaced by the Rope Junction in SASUKE 24.

American Ninja Warrior 4's Lamp Grasper in Midwest and Midsouth regions

The Lamp Grasper appeared on American Ninja Warrior 4, as the eighth obstacle during Midwest and Midsouth region finals. However, the number of lamps was increased to twenty, and the scaffolding was angled slightly upward. Also, the obstacle preceeded the Salmon Ladder with no rest, which made the obstacle harder than the one used in SASUKE.

On American Ninja Warrior 7, an upgraded version of the Lamp Grasper (called as the Globe Grasper) appeared as the ninth obstacle during San Pedro (Military) finals.

There were several differences of design between the Lamp Grasper and Globe Grasper. In the Lamp Grasper, the globes were attached to the scaffolding. While in the Globe Grasper, the globes were attached to a pole which was connected to the scaffolding. Also, in the Globe Grasper, some of the globes were stable, while others would swing freely (which made it harder for the competitors to maintain the grip from the globes), along with the globes were divided into 3 sections (the first and third sections were angled upward, while the second section was angled downward).

On Australian Ninja Warrior, the Globe Grasper appeared as the seventh obstacle in Stage One. However, the number of globes was drastically reduced to just 5 (3 on the first section and 2 on the second section), and the sections were S-shaped (similar to the one used on the Swinging Spikes).
