Kawahara Takuya (川原 拓也) is part of the Yuya Komazawa University gymnastic team and a member of the Muscle Musical. He is known for usually timing out in the first stage, mostly on the final or second final obstacle.

He first competed in SASUKE 16 as a college gymnast, but was one of few to be unable to solve the Rope Reverse in an all cut performance.

He qualified for SASUKE during the SASUKE 17 Trials, where he was the #5 qualifier. In the tournament, he performed well, ultimately timing out on the Soritatsu Kabe.

He returned in SASUKE 19 for his best competition. While his run was cut from the TBS broadcast, TBS showed that he made it to the Rope Ladder during his introduction in SASUKE 20 - something only three other people did that day. He only had a few seconds left when he reached the Rope Ladder and timed out a few meters higher than that.

Because of his good run in SASUKE 19, he was assigned #1987 in SASUKE 20. During his run, he showed great speed, but like many others that day, he misjudged his landing on the Half-Pipe Attack and fell off the side of the mat.

He competed in SASUKE 21 and wore #60 but was all cut. But it's known he at least made it to the Soritatsu Kabe and Flying Chute.

In SASUKE 22 he was assigned a very low number, #14. However, he was the first to beat the Jumping Spider, Half-Pipe Attack, and Soritatsu Kabe that day. he was the first to try the new Slider Jump obstacle, but he lost momentum at the end of the track and fell into the water without ever touching the net.

He returned in SASUKE 23. However, he didn't move fast enough through most of the obstacles, and while he cleared the Slider Jump, he timed out on the Rope Ladder once again.

He competed in SASUKE 24, but was all cut; however, it is known that he again timed out on the Rope Ladder.

He returned in SASUKE 26 and was one of three known people to get a second attempt at the First Stage after the Rolling Escargot was modified. In his shown run, he cleared most of the obstacles but took three attempts to clear the Soritatsu Kabe and he timed out on the Rope Ladder for a fourth time.

He returned in SASUKE 27, but his run was all cut and it is known he failed the Half-Pipe Attack, which had been modified for this tournament to have a smaller landing.

  • According to the official SASUKE 21 competitor list, Kawahara competed 5 times, with SASUKE 22 being his 6th appearance. While SASUKE 18 seems like a likely answer, that can't be the case; all SASUKE 18 entrants are known and he isn't among them. Therefore, he must have complete once before SASUKE 17.
