Jonathan Alan Horton is a former U.S. Olympic Gymnast.

During his Olympic career, he has won one bronze medal during the men's all-around team, and a silver medal for the horizontal bar, which both took place in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He would later compete on American Ninja Warrior, where most people recognizes him as the best ninja to never make it to the National Finals.

Horton had first competed in Dallas in American Ninja Warrior 6, where he unfortunately failed the Ring Toss in qualifying, which didn’t get him into the top 30.

In the city finals, he was one of the many competitors that failed the Walking Bar, Unfortunately he just missed out on going to Vegas, placing 16th.

American Ninja Warrior 11[]

He was first shown supporting another fellow Olympic gymnast, Danell Leyva, during the Los Angeles qualifiers, but ultimately ran in Oklahoma City.

In qualifying, similar to his first season, he fell on the fifth obstacle, this time being Coconut Climb. Coincidentally, it, like the Ring Toss, also utilized a ring-shaped object that needed to be maneuvered by competitors. However, with 17 competitors clearing the obstacle, Horton got to the obstacle in a very quick time, and as such, guaranteed 18th in the top 30.

During the city finals, he was on a mission to earn his first trip to Vegas. However, he got overconfident on the course and made an ill-timed move on the Salmon Ladder, trying to skip a rung. It resulted in the bar getting uneven, and his run quickly ended there. He placed 24th, so he failed to advance to Vegas for the fifth time in his career.

American Ninja Warrior 12[]

Jonathan returned to compete in season 12 where he competed in Qualifiers EP 1. He started his run in a good way, defeating obstacles like Ring Chaser and Rib Run but was defeated by Slingshot. Fortunately, his time was good enough to place 10th and move into the top 12 to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, he competed in Semifinal 1. At the time he ran the course, he had a difficult task to reach the finals, having to make it all the way to the ninth obstacle. Pressure fell on him and he shockingly fell on Clockwork, not moving on and missing his chance to be a finalist.

American Ninja Warrior 13[]

Jonathan competed in ANW 13 in Qualifier 1, determined to be a Vegas finalist this season. He put together a valiant effort through the first three obstacles. However, he failed the fourth obstacle, Tipping Point. Luckily, he was still able to move on to the semifinalist, making the top 30 by placing 28th overall.

He then returned to compete in the first round of the City Finals with the same determination of being an National Finalist. Though his run was digested he got through the Shrinking Steps with ease but then on the Lunatic Ledges went too early on the dismount which caused him to miss the pad. Jonathan placed 23rd at the end of the night causing him to ultimately miss the National Finals and Las Vegas once again.
