Final Viking

Intro[]

Final Viking (stylized FINAL VIKING) is the final stage of all VIKING tournaments (Individual and Pair). Throughout all of the different VIKING's, there were six versions of this stage (3 in Individual and 3 in Pair). In VIKING 4, as well as the Pair version, the tournaments were competition-style, ensuring a winner no matter how far or how many competitors progressed or cleared. In the Individual version's first three competitions, simply completing the stage resulted in Kanzenseiha.

Final Viking Obstacles[]

VIKING Final Viking Obstacles Time Limit
1-2 Horizon Rope (23m) Vertical Rope (10m) 100.0
3 Hawkeye Steady Voyager Ultimate Plank Heartbreaker None
4 Hashigo Nobori (20m) Unlimited*
Pair VIKING Final Viking Obstacles Time Limit
1 Victory Bridge Swing Mast Victory Balanรงo 55.0
2 Kadลshiki Untei 90.0
3 UnteiใƒปKeisan Victory Balanรงo 90.0

* There was no definitive time limit as the timer counted upward in VIKING 4's Final, meaning it would have lasted as long as the competitors took to climb the tower before pressing the button.

Individual Version 1 (VIKING 1-2)[]

Final viking 2

Nagano Makoto was attempting the Final VIKING, VIKING 2

The first two Individual VIKING tournaments featured a 23 meter Horizon Rope (ใƒ›ใƒฉใ‚คใ‚บใƒณใƒญใƒผใƒ—) leading to a 10 meter tower with a Vertical Rope (ใƒใƒผใƒ†ใ‚ฃใ‚ซใƒซใƒญใƒผใƒ—), which had to be completed within a 100 second time limit. The competitors had to cross hand-over-hand for approximately half of the rope (marked by a flag) after which the competitors were free to use their legs. After reaching the end of the Horizontal Rope, they were to transfer to the Vertical Rope, reminiscent of the Tsuna Nobori in SASUKE, though this was tied with the Horizontal Rope as well as at the top, meaning that was less freedom for the rope to swing around compared to the Tsuna Nobori. Competitors had to reach the top and press the button to stop the clock.

Nagano Makoto was the only one able to attempt this version in VIKING 2. He completed the Horizontal Rope, but failed only 50cm short of the button on the Vertical Rope after suddenly gassing out. This version was not conquered prior to the Final Viking re-design in VIKING 3.

Individual Version 2 (VIKING 3)[]

In VIKING 3, Final Viking was redesigned, replacing the 3rd Fantasy Stage from the previous tournament. This version featured four obstacles the competitors must complete before achieving kanzenseiha. There was no time limit. The obstacles featured the brand new Hawkeye, the Steady Voyager and Ultimate Plank from the 3rd Fantasy Stage, with the final obstacle being the Heartbreaker, brought from the 2nd Adventure Stage. Two people, Minamide Kimihiro and Maeda Sho attempted this version, with Minamide failing the Ultimate Plank almost right away and Maeda failing the Steady Voyager. This version would only last for one tournament due to the format change in VIKING 4.

Individual Version 3 (VIKING 4)[]

CelebFinal

Final Viking, VIKING 4.

Due to the head-to-head heat format of VIKING 4, Final Viking was redesigned once more. This version of Final Viking consists of a 20 meter tall Hashigo Nobori (ๆขฏๅญ็™ปใ‚Š). The ladder was not an actual ladder, but a tall bar grid which bounced when climbed. This was a time trial, meaning the winner is the one who can scale the tower in the fastest time. Sato Hiromichi won with a time of 17.83, almost 4 seconds faster than the runner-up, HG.

Pair Version 1 (Pair VIKING 1-2)[]

Pair VIKING featured their own version of Final Viking, adopting a format similar to VIKING 3's where competitors had to take a consecutive series of obstacles rather than climb towers, though a major difference was that these courses were a time trial stage, where the furthest fastest team would became the final winner. Instead of being held at Tokyo Bay, all Final VIKINGs of the Pair version were held at Kumejima, Okinawa.

The first version of Pair's Final VIKING featured three obstacles: Victory Bridge (ใƒ“ใ‚ฏใƒˆใƒชใƒผใƒ–ใƒชใƒƒใ‚ธ), Swing Mast (ใ‚นใ‚คใƒณใ‚ฐใƒžใ‚นใƒˆ), and Victory Balanรงo (ใƒ“ใ‚ฏใƒˆใƒชใƒผใƒ–ใƒฉใƒณใ‚ณ). The time limit was 55 seconds. Oji Hirofumi & Oji Kaito was the only group to attempt this version, and they completed it with 13.1 seconds left, achieved kanzenseiha.

This version returned as the Semi Final of Pair Viking 2. The time limit was reduced to 50 in addition to a minor change in the Victory Bridge.

Pair Version 2 (Pair VIKING 2)[]

Pair VIKING 2 featured a special Final Viking for teams to complete after completing the Semi Final, consisting of a obstacle known as Kadลshiki Untei (ๅฏๅ‹•ๅผใ†ใ‚“ใฆใ„). The course consisted of a monkey bar course 12.6 metres long similar to the Monkey Bar event from Kinniku Banzuke, has a total of ten fixed yellow bars and groups of four loose silver bars bounded together with a rope. A competitor would have to navigate across all of the bars while the other competitor will pick up the silver bars and lay them over the gap. In the middle of the course, there were resting platforms along the way. Once the competitor reaches the end, they had to lache a two metre gap to the finish pad, a la the early versions of the Pipe Slider in SASUKE. The time limit was 90 seconds.

Three groups were able to try this version, with two teams completing it and achieving kanzenseiha: Sato Hiromichi & Sato Fumiya (with 39.14 seconds left) and Oji Hirofumi & Oji Kaito (with 16.33 seconds left). Since team Sato Hiromichi/Sato Fumiya completed it faster, they were declared as the winner of the overall competition. As for the final team; Sase Masayuki & Sase Natsuki, they just timed out short of the goal.

Pair Version 3 (Pair VIKING 3)[]

This version brought back the familiar two-obstacle format for Final Viking, which consisted of the UnteiใƒปKeisan (ใ†ใ‚“ใฆใ„ใƒป่จˆ็ฎ—), which is similar to the previous version except there are no resting spots and one member of the team have to solve a mathematical problem similar to the Parley and Tactical Parley in order to open the corresponding gate to let the other team member to pass and continue till reaching the ending platform. There are four gates which corresponds to four problems, alternating between addition and subtraction. The Victory Balanรงo (ใƒ“ใ‚ฏใƒˆใƒชใƒผใƒ–ใƒฉใƒณใ‚ณ) also returned as well, though with a different twist where both competitors have to swing towards the landing platform at the same time. The time limit was still 90 seconds.

Two groups were able to try this version: Kudo Junichiro & Kudo Megumu and Ogawa Takeshi & Ogawa Mai, but both teams failed the UnteiใƒปKeisan. Since team Kudo Junichiro/Kudo Emu went further, they were declared as the winner.
