Intro[]

The 15th Sportsman competition, official name:「スポーツマンNo.1決定戦XV」 (literally Sportsman No. 1 XV) was the sixth Pro Sportsman Tournament. In similar format to the previous Pro Sportsman Tournament, various athletes from various sports would compete in a series of Sportsman events to gain points.

In this competition, the events Beach Flags, Monster Box, Power Force, Thirty, Dead Man's Drop, The Gallon Throw, and Shot-Gun Touch once again appearing from the previous Pro Sportsman Tournament. While Work Out Guys would make its appearance in the Pro Sportsman Tournament unofficially as a special trial, a first for a Pro Sportsman Competition in which no points are given to the competitors.

The prizes in this competition are as follows:

  • Special Trials Winners would receive JPY 1,000,000
  • Event Winners would receive a Orient Town and Country Watch and JPY 300,000
  • Eighth Place Competitor would receive a GIANT Mountain Bike and JPY 100,000
  • Seventh Place Competitor would receive a Compaq Presario and JPY 200,000
  • Sixth Place Competitor would receive a Grandir 18K Diamond Necklace and JPY 300,000
  • Fifth Place Competitor would receive a Estelle Platinum Diamond Ring and JPY 400,000
  • Fourth Place Competitor would receive a Hawaii Trip for two and JPY 600,000
  • Third Place Competitor would receive a Two Chopard Watches and JPY 1,000,000
  • Second Place Competitor would receive a Nissan Cube car and JPY 2,000,000
  • First Place Competitor would receive a Nissan Bassara car and JPY 5,000,000

Apart from the Pro Sportsman Tournament, a separate event named Monster Box Volleyball World Championship (跳び箱バレーボール世界一決定戦) also took place in this tournament. This event was filmed separately at the Tokyo Bay NK Hall, a location where past Celebrity Survival Battle competitions are filmed. Invited professional volleyball athletes from around the world would compete in the Monster Box event. Compared to the previous Monster Box Volleyball World Championship, female competitors from Italy, Cuba, Brazil, and Japan are invited for this event. This event would be broadcasted as a filler in-between Thirty and Dead Man's Drop.

The event involves competitors laying down flat on their stomachs facing behind the track. Once a whistle is blown, they must stand up and run across the track to grab a limited number of flags.

The event involves competitors running down a runway onto a springboard and vault over a wooden pyramid shaped box (the monster box) that increases in height after all competitors have attempted the current height. In this tournament, the event would involve both the female and male competitors in separate segments, with both having different starting heights in the event.

Thirty[]

The event involves four competitors mentioning numbers from one to thirty with no guide present. Competitors are allowed to mention one or two numbers within the range. Once they mention a number that was already given, they are eliminated from the round. The round would continue until one person is remaining.

  • Red = The number mentioned by the second competitor.
  • Blue = The number mentioned by the third competitor.

Dead Man’s Drop[]

The event involves two competitors standing on a tall pedestal with a 3 meter rope attached around both of their waists, with them only allowed to hold the rope using their left hand. Competitors would use their waists to topple their opponent on their pedestal. There is no time limit for the course.

Competitors would be given corresponding points based on their progress on the event:

  • No. 1 of the Event would be given 100 points
  • Loser of Finals would be given 70 points
  • Losers of Semifinals would be given 40 points
  • Losers of Quarterfinals would be given 20 points
  • Losers of Round 1 would be given 5 points
