Matt Laessig is an Internet software executive and nine-time competitor on American Ninja Warrior. At 6'4 and 220 lbs, he is one of the larger regular competitors.

American Ninja Warrior 2[]

He first competed in American Ninja Warrior 2. His run was completely cut, but he posted on YouTube that he failed the Jumping Spider

American Ninja Warrior 3[]

He returned to compete in American Ninja Warrior 3. Like the previous season, it is unknown where he failed, but he did not make the Top 30 or clear the course.

American Ninja Warrior 4[]

In American Ninja Warrior 4, he returned to compete in the Midwest region. He managed to make it all the way to the Soritatsu Kabe before gassing out. However, he managed to place 29th and move onto the city finals for the first time, being one of the oldest to do so at age 40. However, his success was short-lived, as he failed the same obstacle in the finals even though he practiced it after his failure.

American Ninja Warrior 5[]

In American Ninja Warrior 5, he competed in the Baltimore region. He managed to get through the first four obstacles, but wiped out on the fifth obstacle, the Circle Cross, and was too slow to move on.

American Ninja Warrior 6[]

In American Ninja Warrior 6, he returned to compete in Dallas. He managed to get revenge on the fifth obstacle, clearing the entire course in 15th place. However, in the finals, he had an early exit on the Ring Toss, bringing his second city finals run to an end.

American Ninja Warrior 7[]

He returned in ANW 7 in Houston. His run was entirely cut, but he revealed on YouTube having an early exit on the Tilting Slider. He revealed in said video that he injured his thumbs prior to the run, though he still attempted to make an effort on competing the obstacle.

American Ninja Warrior 8[]

He revealed competing in Oklahoma City. His run was cut, but he was one of many to fail the Log Runner.

American Ninja Warrior 9[]

He competed in the San Antonio qualifiers of American Ninja Warrior 9, His run was all cut, but it was revealed he failed the third obstacle, the Spin Bridge.

American Ninja Warrior 10[]

He returned to compete in the Dallas qualifiers in American Ninja Warrior 10. His run was all cut again, but it was revealed he failed the second obstacle, Catch & Release.
