The Drum Hopper (ドラムホッパー) is an obstacle in the Third Stage, introduced in SASUKE 30. The obstacle was placed as the third obstacle, moving the Crazy Cliffhanger to the fourth obstacle. It consisted of 10 drums, with two parallel rows of 5 drums each, 1.2 metres apart.

Competitors must support their body on one pair of parallel drums and hopped to the next pair and so on, hence the name.

This obstacle was quite similar to the Iron Paddler, in the sense that it strained the triceps.

In its first tournament appearance, nobody failed on this obstacle despite some competitors almost slipped on the drums.

In SASUKE 31, the Drum Hopper was moved to the first obstacle in the Third Stage. Also, a beam of light would light up on every pair of drum as the competitors progressed, and the landing platform was smaller compared to the previous tournament.

Drum Hopper Kai

In SASUKE 32, the tournament after Morimoto Yusuke's kanzenseiha, the Drum Hopper was modified into the Drum Hopper Kai (ドラムホッパー改) and was placed as the first obstacle.

It still consisted of 10 drums, two parallel rows with 5 drums each, but was now increasing 10 cm in height from the first to the fifth drum respectively and the distance being reduced to 1m.

Despite those changes, the obstacle eliminated no one despite some slip-ups and Ragivaru Anastase almost failed on it.

Due to the obstacles' zero knockout rate (including its original version), it was removed in SASUKE 35, with the introduction of the Planet Bridge, which made the Flying Bar and Sidewinder Kai as the first and second obstacles respectively.
