Celebrity Ninja Warrior: Red Nose Day was an American Ninja Warrior's special, which featured nine celebrities, each paired with a top American Ninja Warrior veteran. The show premiered at NBC on May 25th, 2017, recorded prior to the competition of season nine.

Format

Each celebrity was paired by a top American Ninja Warrior veteran, who served as both their trainer and cheerleader, as they could be tagged by their celebrity partner to attempt the obstacle. Each celebrity competitor would receive $5,000 for Red Nose Day's charity, for each obstacle they completed (if their partner, i.e. American Ninja Warrior veterans completed it, it didn't count). However, celebrity competitors were not tied with the American Ninja Warrior's rules (e.g. celebrity competitors were allowed to attempt the same obstacle, although he/she has failed before), as the show's purposes were to encourage viewers to donate and have a fun run between celebrity competitors and the veterans. The obstacles used for this special were the same that will be used for Los Angeles qualifying course on American Ninja Warrior 9 (which would be premiered on June 12th, 2017). Also, several obstacles were modified to make it easier for the celebrity competitors (since they had a short amount of time for training).
